How to Be Environmentally Friendly

With global warming becoming more in-your-face every day people the world over are looking for ways to be more environmentally friendly. There are a lot of things that you can do to help slow the destruction that increases global warming on an hourly basis. Here are some tips for how to be more environmentally friendly and decrease your carbon footprint that just about anyone can take part in.

Buy Green Products
There are tons of natural products on the market that are cheaper, safer, and easier to use than the hazardous toxic chemicals that we have been using for years. Many products like bleach cause unknown harm to the human body and pollute our lakes and streams at an unbelievable rate. If you really want to live a greener lifestyle one of the first thing that you can do is replace the toxic chemicals that are present in your home.

If you feel that you have to use bleach then use oxygenated bleach instead of the usual chlorinated beach. Oxygenated bleach is widely available, much safer for people and the environment is much weaker in stench than traditional bleach.

A good cleaning product for just about everything in your home is vinegar. Vinegar has been proven in many trials to be nearly as effective as bleach as an antiseptic. Instead of bleaching down your kitchen after you cook, try vinegaring it instead. The smell is a lot better and the germs die just the same.

Another part of buying green products is only purchasing products from organizations that are working to be more green themselves. Choose products that have minimal packaging, opt to buy fresh
whenever possible. Also buy products that are made of a high percentage of recycled products.

Organic Food
Pesticides and fertilizers kill wildlife and poison our food. Whenever possible you should buy your food from local organic sources. This means that you are helping to reduce the impact to our environment and your body caused by unhealthy agriculture methods.

Eat More Vegetables
The methane produced by overfilled livestock containment units on factory farms is more of a contributing factor to global warming than all those hummers we are so quick to judge combined. Eating a vegetarian or primarily vegetable based diet is one of the biggest things you can do for environment outside of demanding fresh, local, organic produce and meats. It’s even more environmentally friendly to grow your own vegetables. It is cheaper than going to the store and it is rewarding task. When you grow most of your own food with organic methods that require little or no investment on your part you are not only saving money but you are helping to save the world environment by reducing the miles that food has to travel to get to your table.

Recycle
One of the most obvious forms of being environmentally friendly is recycling. In some states you can even make a little bit of profit off of saving up those aluminum cans and glass bottles. No matter where you are there is likely a recycling center nearby and more cities are implementing sidewalk recycling services with each passing day. Recycling is the biggest environmentally friendly innovation of our time. There is a great deal of importance to making sure to reuse and recycle everything you can possibly can. If you want to be environmentally friendly keep as much stuff out of those gas producing landfills as you possibly can through recycling.
